Our school has been doing a lot this week to remind students to be thankful–but the library is thankful for all of you!

我们学校本周做了很多事情来提醒学生要感恩——但图书馆感谢你们所有人！

Our younger primary students circled back to the important idea of being respectful of different cultures and being brave to stand up for your own. Just like Dat in Gibberish a few weeks ago, our new character Mirha also struggles with making friends and feeling different. She thinks her name is too hard for the kids and teachers at school, but her mom reminds her that her name is beautiful and deserves to be learned. A great lesson for our growing minds!

我们年轻的小学生们又回到了尊重不同文化并勇敢捍卫自己文化的重要理念。 就像几周前的《Gibberish》中的 Dat 一样，我们的新角色 Mirha 也在交朋友和感觉与众不同方面遇到了困难。 她认为她的名字对于学校的孩子和老师来说太难了，但她妈妈提醒她，她的名字很漂亮，值得学习。 对我们成长中的心灵来说是一个很好的教训！

Our older primary students got to experience a special treat when reading our next Panda Book Award Book. Nano: The Spectacular Science of the Very (Very) Small by Dr. Jess Wade was made into a read-aloud movie published by Dreamscapes. The 15-minute movie read the book with fun sound effects, engaging music, and an emotive narrator. I wish every book had a read-aloud movie!

我们的高年级小学生在阅读我们的下一本书《熊猫图书奖》时体验到了一种特殊的享受。 Jess Wade 博士的《纳米：极小世界的壮观科学》被制作成由 Dreamscapes 出版的朗读电影。 这部 15 分钟的电影通过有趣的音效、引人入胜的音乐和情感丰富的叙述者来阅读这本书。 我希望每本书都有一部朗读电影！

Did you know Ms. Claire loves going to see ballet? Well she also loves reading about ballet! This mystery/thriller follows three girls at an eclusive ballet school in New York. The competition has always been fierce, but this year some dancers are willing to turn to darker means in order to get the part of their dreams. Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton was also made into a TV series!
