Love of Reading Week 2024 was a massive success! Thank you so much to the students and teachers who participated in our activities and made this amazing week possible. Here’s a recap of the fun events of the last week:

All-School Activities
Love of Reading Week Hallway
Students grades 1-12 all came together to help us make our Love of Reading Week Hallway. The displays in this hallway include reading recommendations, photos of students in the library, student-made book posters, and the book covers of everything we have read in library class this year.
1-12 年级的学生们齐心协力,帮助我们制作了 “热爱阅读周走廊”。走廊上的展品包括阅读推荐、学生在图书馆的照片、学生制作的图书海报以及今年我们在图书馆课上阅读的所有书籍的封面。





Book Fair
Is there anything better than shopping for new books? Everyone enjoyed browsing the books from Share Kids Books–I personally bought several myself!
还有什么比买新书更开心的吗?大家都很喜欢浏览 Share Kids Books 的书籍,我自己也买了几本!
Monday 周一
Monday kicked off the week strong with our “Favorite Book Photo Wall” event. Using the library’s special instant Fujifilm cameras, students could take a photo with their favorite book and hang it on the wall for all to see.
周一的 “最喜爱的图书照片墙 “活动为本周拉开了序幕。学生们可以使用图书馆特制的富士即拍即影相机,与自己喜爱的图书合影,并将照片挂在墙上供大家欣赏。
Tuesday 周二
On Tuesday, our primary students flexed their creative abilities and made bookmarks out of colorful paper and stickers.

Wednesday 周三
Students were invited to practice their poetry skills by writing headline poetry or blackout poetry. These unique poetry forms are made from old book pages and magazines, resulting in something entirely new.

Thursday 周四
Do you think you’re a Taylor Swift expert? How about a Shakespeare expert? On Thursday, students and teachers were invited to test their knowledge with a game of “Who Said It?: Taylor Swift or Shakespeare.” The library also had guessing games for how many English books are in the library, how many English books are currently checked out, and what English book has been checked out the most!
你认为自己是泰勒-斯威夫特(Taylor Swift)专家吗?莎士比亚专家呢?周四,学生和老师们受邀参加了 “泰勒-斯威夫特(Taylor Swift)和莎士比亚谁说的?图书馆还举行了猜测游戏,猜测图书馆里有多少本英文书、目前有多少本英文书被借出,以及哪本英文书被借出的次数最多!
Friday 星期五
We ended our Love of Reading Week with book-folding art and a book game. Ms. Dong printed out different patterns that students could follow to create different designs and Ms. Rui made a puzzle where students had to guess the book title from a list of emojis. A great way to end the week!
我们以折书艺术和读书游戏结束了爱读书周。董老师打印了不同的图案,让学生们按照图案进行创作;芮老师则制作了一个拼图,让学生们从一系列表情符号中猜出书名。为本周画上了圆满的句号!
Secondary School Library Lessons
中学图书馆课程
To help promote a love of reading with the older students, Ms. Dong scheduled library lessons with the middle school and high school English classes. This was a special Book Speed-Dating activity which introduced students to dozens of books in the time of one class. Students were instructed to spend some time to look at all the books, read one book for two minutes, and then take notes and give a rating of the book they read. By the end of the class, hopefully everyone will have found a great book to read during Love of Reading Week! Other classes got to take a break and spend the class reading outside on picnic blankets.
为了促进高年级学生对阅读的热爱,董老师安排了初中和高中英语课程的图书馆课程。这是一次特别的 “图书速配 “活动,在一堂课的时间内向学生介绍了几十本书。学生们被要求花一些时间看完所有的书,两分钟读完一本书,然后做笔记并给自己读过的书打分。课堂结束时,希望每个人都能找到一本适合在爱读书周阅读的好书!其他班级可以休息一下,在户外野餐毯上阅读。
