It’s almost the end of the school year! As exciting as that is, it also means that this week is the last week for students to check out books. Please make sure you return all your library books before May 31!

Global Literacy Week 全球扫盲周
Global Literacy Week is a time of year when we take extra time to appreciate literacy and literature around the world. The primary library hosted three international movies during ASA time and put many multicultural books on display.

Younger Primary 低年级小学生
Ms. Rui read the Mulan story from the famous Little Golden Book collection. In the first part of the story, we learned about the background and war history that inspired Mulan to take her father’s place as a soldier. Next week we will continue the story and read of Mulan’s exciting adventures as she battles Shan Yu, the leader of the Hun army! To complement our readings, we will also be watching clips from the famous 1998 Disney production of Mulan.

After getting some answers from the Film Academy Library, Hugo and Isabelle finally confront Papa Georges about his past. Friends Etienne and Monsieur Tabard brought a projector to play one of Papa Georges’s old films, and it seems to have ignited some sort of spark in him again.

While visiting the bookstore Sisyphe this week, I was lucky enough to find a book that was in English! Of course I had to buy it. It is a collection of short stories by Oscar Wilde, a famous and eccentric writer that I enjoy. This is my first time reading his short stories!
