Our younger primary students returned to last week’s story of Mulan and continued reading about her dangerous adventures and bravery. We thought the Hun army was defeated, but when Mulan sees that they survived the avalanche, she must warn Captain Li Shang at the Emperor’s palace.

Older Primary 高年级小学生
This week we discovered some more of Papa Georges’s past: not only was he a famous filmmaker, but that’s how he met Isabelle’s parents. He has tried to forget his past because of the pain it causes him to remember what he has lost. Although the toy shop was a kind of prison, it kept him safe from painful memories. But maybe Papa Georges is willing to face his past again. Just as Hugo is about to reunite Papa Georges with the automaton, he is captured by the Station Inspector!

Middle School 初中
On Friday Ms. Claire worked with Mr. Armstrong’s 8th grade class to introduce our two databases, Britannica and JSTOR. It may be the end of the year, but these lessons are still very important for teaching our students to be better researchers and future scholars. This was the first of three lessons with this 8th grade class–tune in next week to see everything they’ve been learning!

Last semester I read the whole Poppy War trilogy, an adult fantasy series set in 1800’s China. Since I loved that series so much, I wanted to read more by that author, R.F. Kuang. I’ve only just started Babel but I already know I will love it!
