Our last full week of school! The year has flown by, and the library is so grateful to our students and staff who have made this year wonderful. Remember to return all your library books and textbooks!

Younger Primary 低年级小学生
Reflecting back on their reading of Mulan, Ms. Ray led the first and second graders in a discussion of the four great inventions of Ancient China and the four great inventions of modern China. Students compared the ancient inventions that they read about in the story (paper-making, printing, compass, and gunpowder) with the new inventions they experience in their lives today (online shopping, high-speed train, bike sharing, and electronic payment). A great exercise to help students realize the connections throughout history and to try and predict what inventions might come in the future!
瑞老师带领一年级和二年级的学生讨论了中国古代的四大发明和中国现代的四大发明。学生们将他们在故事中读到的古代发明（造纸术、印刷术、指南针和火药）与他们今天在生活中体验到的新发明（网上购物、高速列车、共享单车和电子支付）进行了比较。这是一个很好的练习，可以帮助学生认识到历史上的联系，并尝试预测未来可能出现的发明！

After 12 lovely weeks of reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznik, we finally finished! I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say it’s a happy one. 5th Grade Final Project 五年级期末作业
Every year at the end of the spring semester, the fifth graders plan a presentation where they reflect on an assignment they worked on earlier in the year. This final project is in the form of a poster presentation that is recorded by the school’s marketing department and uploaded to a link made for each student, which can be watched by their family. Although it was nerve-wracking, our students worked incredibly hard and made some amazing presentations. These presentations were filmed in the study rooms in Library A, which will become the main library for these soon-to-be sixth graders next year!
