Welcome to September! During Week 3 our students learned about respecting our friends, made text-to-world connections, and learned about our new projects happening in Library A.

Younger Primary G1-2 低年级小学生
Nerdy Birdy and his best friend, Vulture, are very different. Luckily, you don’t have to agree on everything to still be friends. One day, Nerdy Birdy joins Tweetster, and the friend requests start flying in. Vulture watches as Nerdy Birdy gets swept up in his new friendships, but when she finally gets angry, Nerdy Birdy knows just what to do to make things right. From this story, we can learn that we should respect our friends.

Older Primary G3-5 高年级小学生
We had a brief summary of August by talking about the Paris Olympics. We shared the news in Olympic period, and some interesting facts about the Olympics from the nonfiction book 5000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!). I also introduced some fiction books related to Paris or France. I had to put the students in waiting list, because they were so enthusiastic about the books! Jasmine in G4 even said “The Phantom of the Opera is the best book in the world!” We are glad that students love these books.

Library A 图书馆 A
This week Ms. Claire taught library orientation lessons to our middle schoolers! After learning some library vocabulary words and library rules, students worked together in teams to complete the scavenger hunt around Library A.
本周，董老师给我们的初中生上了一堂图书馆导读课！在学习了一些图书馆词汇和图书馆规则后，学生们以小组为单位在图书馆 A 区完成了寻宝游戏。

Ms. Claire also taught Ms. Jade Wang’s G7-10 National class about Library A, which included new information about how our Chinese books are organized. It was great to meet new students in the library!
