This week Library C lauched a program for audiobooks! Students can borrow a small mp3 player and headphones to listen to some popular books in the library. This is also a great way to improve listening skills!

It’s almost time to vote for your student union representatives! Many of our secondary students used our beautiful library book rainbow as a background to record their student union speech. Best of luck to each candidate!

This week we read a book called A Big Mooncake and Little Star by Grace Lin to welcome Mid-Autumn Festival. Little Star loves the delicious mooncake that she bakes with her mama. She can’t wait to eat it! In this heartwarming story, readers learn about Mid-Autumn Festival traditions as well as the phases of the moon.
为了迎接中秋节的到来，本周我们阅读了林珮恩写的《小星星的大月饼》一书。小星星非常喜欢和妈妈一起烤的美味的月饼。她迫不及待地想吃它！在这个温馨的故事中，读者可以了解中秋节的传统以及月相。
Older Primary G3-5 年级小学生
Autumn is approaching as we can see the leaves are turning red. This week we read When Will Fall Arrive? by Sanne Miltenburg, a warm story about the friendship between a bunny and a hedgehog. Bunny is worried because his best friend hedgehog told him that hodgehogs have to hibernate when the first leaf turns red. To keep Hedgehog around, Bunny gets up early everyday to collect all the fallen leaves and paint red leaves green. One day Hedgehog realized the truth, so he explained why they must sleep through fall and winter. They compromised and decided that Hedgehog could hibernate in Bunny’s room so they would never have to be apart. Students shared their opinion on how to keep a healthy friendship, and we wished everyone a nice Mid-Autumn Festival.

This week Ms. Claire did the library orientation scavenger hunt game with our high school students! It turns out that students young and old all enjoy a good scavenger hunt! Now ALL of our secondary students should be masters of the library space!

Ms. Jade Wang brought in her G7-9 class for a library orientation as well! Ms. Claire told them about all the new things in the library and Ms. Cai designed this custom-made Chinese classification poster to help our students navigate our thousands of Chinese library books.
