Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a spider? This week, our first and second grade students got a peek into the life of these small creatures by reading Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin. Actually there is a whole series of books about bug diaries, such as Diary of a Fly and Diary of a Worm, which Ms. Ray displayed. If you liked this book, be sure to check out the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series or Diary of a Minecraft Zombie series!

Our upper elementary students also experienced different animal lives while reading Zootopia: Judy Hopps and the Missing Jumbo-Pop. In the city of Zootopia, there are lots of interesting names. This inspired us to share the stories of our own names! We also watched the trailer for the upcoming Zootopia 2 movie, which looks very exciting!

We have some new signs in Library A! Now our fiction section is easier to navigate and look for books. The signs on the endcaps of each bookshelf tell you how our books are organized. For example, if you’re looking for the book Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, go to the shelf that says “SN – ZU” because the author’s last name “Taylor” falls within that range. If you have any questions about finding a book, be sure to ask Ms. Claire or our other amazing library staff!

Book Fair Next Week 下周图书展
THISDL will have its first book fair of the school year next week! It will run from Monday-Wednesday (Sep 23-25) from 8am-5pm and will be located in Building C, Level B1. Students are welcome to bring cash or fill out a wishlist to bring home and show their parents. Be sure to stock up on your favorite books before the holiday!
