In Duck on a Bike by David Shannon, Duck decides to try to ride a bike! As he rides past all the farm animals, he inspires all the other animals to also ride bikes. This is just the beginning of Duck’s story, because the next book is about how he wants to drive a tractor! After we finished the story, we learned more about the author/illustrator David Shannon and the many books he has written. Come take a look at some of his other books!

Older Primary G3-5

This week, we read The Antlered Ship by Dashka Slater. It is a short story about a fox named Marco who has many questions about the world. But his questions are much more complicated than “Who am I?”, “Where am I?”, or “Where am I going?”; instead, he asks abstract, philosophical questions like “How deep does the sun go when it sinks into the sea?” Our kids became warmhearted as they helped Marco and his friends and got ready for new challenges.
