It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we introduce the new book mural of Library C! The librarians helped choose the books and the wonderfully talented Ms. Cai designed the art. Thank you to the THISDL print shop for helping make our library beautiful! If you’re interested in reading any of the books in the mural, be sure to ask a librarian and we would be happy to find it for you.

Mother Bruce by Ryan T. Higgins is a humorous children’s book about a grumpy bear named Bruce who accidentally becomes the mother to a group of goslings, despite his reluctance to care for them. At the end of the story, students had a choice between two endings; either Bruce goes home to have a winter nap or Bruce stays with them in Miami to enjoy sunshine on the beach. Which ending would you choose?

This week we turned off the lights and shared a “scary” story as the warmup for Character Day. Nemo and his friends discover a “ghost fish” while out exploring. In the end, they learn that the “ghost fish” is just the shadow of a coral, and they become friends with the glowing fish’s family. The students wooed and ahhhed like Nemo and his friends during the journey in the deep sea, and concluding that we shouldn’t be afraid to find out the truth of mysteries.
