Character Day is approaching, so Ms. Ray taught students about what a character is in a book. Sometimes the characters can be people, animals, make-believe creatures and non-living things (such as a snowman or crayons). We also learned about character traits, both outside and inside, and reviewed Mother Bruce and A Duck on a Bike to practice our new skills. To give some costume inspiration for Character Day, Ms. Ray ended the lesson with some great photos of costumes from some famous children’s books. We can’t wait to see your costumes!

On June 23rd 2018, a hot, cloudy day in northern Thailand, twelve young players of the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach headed into a local cave to explore–but when they turned to leave, rising floodwaters blocked their path. They are trapped! All Thirteen by Christina Soontornvat documents the actual event of this thrilling rescue. We are relieved after knowing all thirteen players were rescued alive. In the end, we wish that students have a nice trip on Friday.
