After weeks of preparation, Character Day is finally here! There was an activity-filled afternoon for the primary students led by the art department and homeroom teachers, and the secondary activities were organized by Ms. Claire and the secondary English department.

Favorite Character Wall 最喜欢的人物墙
Every student from G6 to G12 were asked by their homeroom teacher to fill out a favorite character sheet. When we collected all the submissions, we pinned them on the Character Day display wall on level 1 of Building A (high school) and Building B (middle school). I absolutely loved seeing the efforts and drawings done by the students on these favorite character sheets. It is truly a work of community art!
从G6到G12的每个学生都被他们的班主任老师要求填写一张最喜欢的人物表。当我们收集完所有的提交内容后，我们把它们钉在 A 栋（高中部）和 B 栋（初中部）一楼的 “角色日展示墙”上。我非常喜欢看到学生们在这些最喜欢的角色表上所做的努力和绘画。这确实是一件社区艺术作品！
Door Decorating Contest 门装饰比赛
To celebrate characters and stories this Character Day, each homeroom planned and decorated their door according to a theme decided by their class. From classic spooky icons like teeth and spiderwebs to more modern decor with Zootopia and Frozen, the doors of Building A and B were beautiful and intriguing.
Each student was given a voting sheet which required them to visit each homeroom’s door and then write their top three favorite choices. The homerooms planned engaging activities and riddles in order for students to earn their visit stamp. Once students finished their judging, they could turn in their voting sheet for a participation prize. But that’s not the only prize–the winning door decorations will get a prize for the whole homeroom!
在角色日为了庆祝人物和故事，每个班里都根据自己班级确定的主题对门进行了规划和装饰。从像牙齿和蜘蛛网这样经典的恐怖图案，到《疯狂动物城》和《冰雪奇缘》为代表的更现代的装饰，A 栋和 B 栋的教室门既漂亮又引人入胜。
每个学生都拿到了一张投票表，他们需要参观每个班级的教室门，然后写下他们最喜欢的三个选择。各个班级策划了趣味十足的活动和谜语，以便学生们获得参观印章。一旦学生完成评判，他们可以上交投票表以获得参与奖。但这并不是唯一的奖品 —— 获胜的教室门装饰将为整个班级赢得一份奖品！

We love displaying photos of our students in the library, and Character Day provided a perfect opportunity to update our Polaroid wall. For the last few weeks this wall displayed ideas for Character Day and the corresponding books, but as Character Day progressed we were able to swap out the ideas for actual photos of our students’ costumes! Take a look at all these beautiful characters!
