Younger Primary G1-2 年级小学生
This week we read Fluffy McWhiskers Cuteness Explosion by Stephen W. Martin with our first graders. The story follows Fluffy, an adorably cute kitten who accidentally causes anyone who looks at her to explode. She tries everything, even a bad haircut, to make herself less cute, but nothing works, so she hides away to keep others safe. This funny, heartwarming tale teaches lessons about self-acceptance and finding friendship in unexpected places.
本周，我们和一年级学生一起阅读了斯蒂芬-W-马丁（Stephen W. Martin）的《毛毛虫可爱爆炸》（Fluffy McWhiskers Cuteness Explosion）。故事讲述了一只可爱的小猫 Fluffy 不小心让所有看她的人都爆炸了。为了让自己不那么可爱，她想尽了办法，甚至剪了个糟糕的发型，但都没有用，于是她躲得远远的，以保证别人的安全。这个有趣、温馨的故事告诉我们如何自我接纳，以及如何在意想不到的地方寻找友谊。
With G2, we explored key details about books, including their call numbers, titles, authors, illustrators, and spines, to help students better understand how books are organized in the library. We also introduced them to the library website and demonstrated how to use it to locate books efficiently. To make the experience more engaging, we created a library map to visually guide them through the library’s layout and help them navigate the shelves confidently. Thank you to Ms. Cai for making our beautiful new map!

Older Primary G3-5 年级小学生
We are now diving into the most exciting chapters of Princess Cora and the Crocodile! The children couldn’t stop laughing during the hilarious scene where the Queen and the crocodile argue, tossing the book back and forth and calling each other “reptile” and “mammal!” No spoilers, though—we can’t wait to discover how the story wraps up in the final chapters next week!
我们现在正进入《科拉公主和鳄鱼》最精彩的章节！女王和鳄鱼争论不休，把书扔来扔去，还互称对方为 “爬行动物 ”和 “哺乳动物”，孩子们看得笑个不停。虽然没有剧透，但我们已经迫不及待地想知道故事在下周的最后章节中是如何收尾的！
Library A 图书馆 A
There is a new art display in Library A! As much as we love our students, we understand that the THISDL library is only their temporary home before going on to their next chapter in life–their university library! This art wall shows 20 different university libraries from all over the world, from castle-like structures in Ireland to vaults in Spain and ultra-modern buildings in our own beloved China. We hope that these libraries will inspire our students to dream and read big!
