“It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” These famous romantic lines come from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, one of the greatest love stories ever written. I recommend this book with all my heart!
“这样不行。我的感情不会被压抑 你必须允许我告诉你 我是多么钦佩和爱慕你” 这些浪漫的名句出自简-奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》,这是有史以来最伟大的爱情故事之一。我衷心推荐这本书!

To welcome back our students, Ms. Ray reminded everyone of our new Reading Star program! To participate in this program and to compete for the Best Reader selection, readers must log 45 books during the spring semester and fill out the Reading Star log sheet. Best of luck to all our readers!

Many of our readers already know the junior chapter series A to Z Mysteries by Ron Roy, but did you know there is one about Chinese New Year? While reading The New Year Dragon Dilemma, students tried to solve the mystery and find clues hidden in the pictures. It seems we have some amateur detectives on our hands!
我们的许多读者已经知道罗恩-罗伊所著的初级章节系列《A 到 Z 之谜》,但您知道其中有一本是关于中国新年的吗?在阅读《新年龙的困境》时,学生们试图解开谜团,找到隐藏在图片中的线索。看来我们有一些业余侦探!

Valentine’s Day Display 情人节展示

Introducing a new library activity: Take a chance on a new book! You’ve probably heard the saying “Never judge a book by its cover!” and this new display takes that phrase literally. Ms. Claire prepared over 20 books to be wrapped for this activity. On each wrapping is written the book’s genre and some key points about the type of story. Think it sounds interesting? Take the wrapped book to the desk for checkout and find out what you chose!
介绍一项新的图书馆活动: 在新书上碰碰运气!你可能听过一句话:“切勿以貌取人!”而这个新的展示活动正是从字面上来诠释这句话的。董老师为这次活动准备了 20 多本书的包装。每个包装上都写着书的类型和有关故事类型的一些要点。觉得有趣吗?把包装好的书拿到服务台结账,看看你选中了什么!

Black History Month Display 黑人历史月展示

February is celebrated as Black History Month in the US, and during this time librarians encourage students to read more books that highlight Black experiences. Need some inspiration? Check out authors Kwame Alexander, Octavia E. Butler, Walter Dean Myers, or Ibi Zoboi; or read the biographies of Jacqueline Woodson or Booker T. Washington, to name a few! Reading books about other cultures is a great way to expand your mind!
美国将二月定为 “黑人历史月”,在此期间,图书馆员鼓励学生阅读更多突出黑人经历的书籍。需要一些灵感吗?查看作家夸迈-亚历山大、奥克塔维娅-E.巴特勒、沃尔特-迪恩-迈尔斯或伊比-佐伯伊;或阅读杰奎琳-伍德森或布克-华盛顿等人的传记!阅读有关其他文化的书籍是拓展思维的好方法!

What are your librarians reading?

图书管理员在读什么书?

Ms. Claire is reading Ophie’s Ghosts by Justina Ireland, which is a middle-grade novel set in Philadelphia in 1923. Ophie recently moved to the city and is hiding a big secret: she can see ghosts! At first she tries to ignore them, but her heart tells her to try to help them. Some ghosts are nice, but others are clearly sticking around to make trouble.
董老师正在阅读 Justina Ireland 所著的《奥菲的鬼魂》,这是一本以 1923 年费城为背景的中篇小说。奥菲最近刚搬到这座城市,她隐藏着一个大秘密:她能看见鬼魂!起初,她试图忽略它们,但她的内心告诉她要尽力帮助它们。有些鬼是好人,但有些鬼显然是来捣乱的。
