Are you ready for Sports Day? Our first graders prepared for their first Spring Sports Day by reading Clifford’s Sports Day by Norman Bridwell. This was a great introduction to the Clifford the Big Red Dog series and also showed our students that books can connect to what we’re doing in real life!

Our older primary students also warmed up for Sports Day by reading Running Rivals from the extensive Jake Maddox series. This series has dozens of different sports and characters, so you’re sure to find something you like! We were fortunate enough to share this Friday’s library class with the visiting students from Hong Kong. What a great opportunity to make new friends and share the love of reading!

Over at the secondary library, Ms. Claire worked with Ms. Holliday’s G10 students to prepare for their upcoming research papers. On Monday we learned about the databases Britannica and JSTOR and how to use them effectively; then on Monday we practiced source evaluation to make sure we always think critically about the information we find online. Great practice even if you’re not writing a research paper!
