Older primary students finished the powerful fable How the Leopard Got His Claws. This story invites reflection on the balance between power and freedom. In the end, the leopard takes back control of the forest and destroys the shared shelter that once stood for unity. The dog, now an outcast, finds refuge with the hunter and becomes his helper. With the harmony of the forest broken, the animals are left on their own. The fable leaves us with much to ponder as we imagine ourselves in the story and consider what true leadership and community mean.

Mr. James’s 7th grade classes came for several blocks on Friday to have some quiet reading time and work on building their vocabulary. Vocabulary is a skill that you should always work on improving, even as an adult!
