A perfect follow-up to Character Day, we invited Shanghai Foreign Language Bookstore to have a book fair at our school this week! Having a book fair is a great way to encourage students to take ownership of their reading, and also can introduce some new books our libraries don’t yet have!
继角色日圆满落幕后，本周我们特邀外文书店在校举办书展！书展不仅能激励学生自主规划阅读旅程，更带来了图书馆尚未收录的精彩新作！

Like many of our new first grade students, Dat starts a new school and doesn’t know the language at all! Gibberish by Young Vo is about a boy who starts school in a new country. All the words around him sound strange and confusing—like gibberish! But with the help of a kind new friend, Dat begins to understand and feel at home. Our THISDL readers even noticed how the story starts with dark, gray pictures and slowly becomes colorful as Dat learns the language and makes friends.
