We’ve read a lot of books this semester! What can you remember? This week our G3-4 students did a review quiz of all the books from first semester. Students saw pictures of dogs and had to use their memory to write down which book the dog was from. Then they listened to an audio track of an excerpt/sound from the book and determine which character said it! Finally we collected the students’ rating of the books and their favorite genres. We can’t wait for all our new books this coming semester!
这学期我们读了好多书呢！你还记得哪些呢？本周，我们三至四年级的学生进行了一场涵盖上学期所有图书的回顾小测验。同学们需要观察狗狗的图片，凭借记忆写出它们出自哪本书；随后聆听书籍片段或声音的音频，判断是哪位角色的台词！最后我们还收集了同学们对书籍的评分和最喜爱的题材类型。已经等不及想看到新学期所有的新书啦！
When most people think of drama plays, they think of a stage, big lights, and talented actors. But did you know you can also read plays? Reading a play includes special features, such as character roles, dialogue, and stage directions. Grade 5 staged their own mini performances of A Crow, a Lion, and a Mouse! Oh, My! as well as The Crow and the Pitcher, two fables retold by Crystal Hubbard. Future actors in the making!

One of my new year’s goals is to finish some book series that I left unfinished last year. I’m continuing that this week! Flamefall is the second book in the Aurelian Cycle series by Rosaria Munda. This series is such a treat! The world-building is fantastic and deep, the characters are complex and heartbreaking, and I can’t wait to read the third one!
