Older Primary G3-5 年级小学生

Cece Bell’s graphic memoir El Deafo tells about her hearing loss at a very young age and her experiences with the Phonic Ear, a very powerful and very awkward hearing aid. In this book the author/illustrator decided that the characters would all be rabbits, which gives the books a fun and endearing quality. After reading the first couple of chapters together we discussed other ways deaf children communicate including with sign language, lip reading and through reading and writing.

Secondary Library 中学图书馆

This week Ms. Claire worked with the middle school English teachers and offered a book talk lesson to showcase some of our new titles. This special lesson included an emoji-based game where students had to figure out which emojis matched which new book. At the end of the game, students were invited to check out new books for their upcoming winter holiday.
本周,董老师与初中英语教师合作开展了一场图书推介课,重点展示了部分新到馆藏。这堂特色课程设计了表情符号猜书游戏,学生需要根据表情组合猜出对应的新书。课程结束后,同学们纷纷为即将到来的寒假借阅了新书。
