Waiting by Kevin Henkes is a gentle picture book about five toy animals waiting by the window. Each waits for something different: the moon, rain, snow, sunshine, and fireworks. They stay quietly, patient and calm. In the end, a new friend arrives, and they learn that wonderful surprises often come while we wait.
凯文·汉克斯（Kevin Henkes）的作品《等待》（Waiting）是一本温柔的绘本，讲述了窗台上的五只玩具小动物。它们每一只都在等待着不同的事物：月亮、雨、雪、阳光和烟花。它们静静地待在那里，耐心而从容。故事的最后，一位新朋友加入了它们，小动物们也明白了：在等待的过程中，奇妙的惊喜往往会悄然而至。

Spoiler alert! After three weeks with the story of Zeke the alien, we learned their final decision: Zeke and his family decide to stay on Earth! The family have come to love their Earthly life and Zeke doesn’t want to leave his best friends Harris and Roxy. Zeke can keep having adventures with his friends, going to school, and enjoying life on Earth. The secret of the alien family is safe, and they all live together peacefully as good friends.

Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most popular artists in China, and this week we learned how the artist’s sleep problems actually may have been a source of inspiration to his art. In the picture book Vincent Can’t Sleep by Barb Rosenstock we saw how when young Vincent struggled to fall asleep he sometimes got up at night and walked out on the hills in Holland. Later as an adult he would go on to paint cafes at night in cities, sunflowers or the night sky with its glowing stars.

When Sophie’s Feelings are Really, Really Hurt by Molly Bang is the story of a girl who loves to paint. Her teacher has asked the class to study a tree and then to come into class the next day to paint it from memory, but Sophie’s painting is causing quite a stir. She tried painting the bark grey like the real tree but it looked all wrong, so she chose to use blue for the trunk and orange for the sky. This reflected her feelings about being strong with the bold tree. The teacher explains that we can use color to show our feeling about the subject of our pictures.
莫莉·邦（Molly Bang）的作品《菲菲生气了：当菲菲的情感真的受到伤害时》（When Sophie’s Feelings are Really, Really Hurt）讲述了一个热爱画画的小女孩的故事。老师要求全班同学观察一棵树，并在第二天凭记忆把它画出来。然而，菲菲的画作引起了不小的轰动。她曾尝试像真实的树那样把树皮涂成灰色，但看起来总觉得不对劲，于是她选择用蓝色画树干，用橙色画天空。这反映了她内心像这棵醒目的树一样坚强。老师向大家解释道，我们可以通过色彩来表达我们对绘画对象的情感。
