In this interesting and unusual story, a circle is our main character! Circle by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen is a short, playful picture book about three shape friends: Circle, Square, and Triangle. When their game of hide-and-seek goes wrong, they must lean on each other to escape a dark and scary cave.

Older Primary G3-5

As spring gets into full swing, our upper primary students read a book about plants pollinators! Flower Talk – How Plants Use Color to Communicate by Sarah Levine is an exploration of how flowers are plants’ advertisements for attracting animals to help them. We learned that the different colors as well as the shape of the flower talk to specific pollinators, from blue and yellow flowers talking to bees and butterflies, to red attracting birds, and even white flowers that show up brightly to bats and moths at night.
